If people want to spring forward, then just get up an hour early anyway (like you would with DST) and do chores in the morning. I do gardening, and watering needs to be done in the morning otherwise the heat could wilt them. This chore should not wait until evening. When we spring forward, I have to water the gardens in the dark before the sun has come up to get to work on time. Then its still bright when I get home which disrupts my melatonin production and makes sleeping more difficult.

I am never up with the sun, and I feel like farmers would be fine even though the sun is up “later”, it’s still pretty early. The worst part being on the east coast is that the kids getting out of school have NO light by the time they are home. Some of them come home in the dark because it gets dark around 3:30-4pm here. That’s not right. I can adapt to whatever, I don’t really care. But I hate that kids get no playtime outside and are coming home in the dark. So I’d rather it stay on spring forward because dark at 3:30 is not cool.

Not going to happen…at least not anytime soon if at all. I wish for Standard time but I dont see it happening either. Guess we are stuck with this stupid time change forever probably. I hate it and love the darker evenings in fall and winter.

Not going to happen according to mother nature! DST does not control the sun and the earth!

It will get dark in the evenings in winter time regardless of daylight savings time. The days are shorter in the winter time. The days are longer in summertime dude.
